FACE Program Results and Impact
The Family and Child Education (FACE) Program serves 53 Native American communities across the United States. Through its three core components, Prekindergarten, Adult Education, and Family Enrichment, FACE engages the entire family, providing targeted resources and services that meet the unique needs of each community while integrating local language and culture.
The FACE program is directly aligned with the Bureau of Indian Education's Vision - Excellence in Student-Centered, Indian Education - and FACE educators and staff work daily to accomplish the BIE Mission: In partnership with tribal nations, the BIE promotes a culturally-based, comprehensive education that prepares and empowers students to be healthy and successful.
With more than 30 years of impact, the program has experienced significant growth in recent years. Enrollment increased by 41% from School Year (SY) 2023–2024 to SY 2024–2025, reaching more than 1,800 families.
FACE supports the whole family and delivers measurable results. In SY 2024–2025, more than 80% of prekindergarten students met kindergarten-readiness benchmarks.
